What are they for?

 The dose is adapted to each person according to the indication for which it is used. It is important that you take your medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take the medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If you don't remember until the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the usual time. Never take double the dose.

What precautions should I take?

  • Pregnancy Prevention Program: Make sure you know the risks of exposure to valproate during pregnancy;
  • Contraception: If you are a female of childbearing age, always use effective contraception during treatment with valproate;
  • Adverse reactions: If you suspect any adverse reaction to the medicine (mentioned or not in the package leaflet), you should report it to INFARMED via the ADR Portal;

 Do not stop taking this medicine. If you plan to become pregnant or suspect that you are pregnant, contact your medical specialist immediately.
